Patient Preparation

When booking your appointment, our team will provide clear instructions. This may include fasting for several hours or drinking water to ensure a full bladder for certain scans.
Ultrasound is performed by a qualified sonographer using a handheld device called a transducer, which is moved over the area being examined to capture real time images.

How long does an ultrasound take?
Most ultrasound examinations take between 15 and 30 minutes, depending on the type of scan.
How much will my ultrasound cost?
Most ultrasound examinations are fully bulk billed for Medicare holders. Some specialised scans may involve an out of pocket cost. Our team will advise you when booking.
When will my report be ready?
Your images will be reviewed by a radiologist, and a report will be sent to your referring doctor within 48 hours. Once the report has been finalised and sent, you will receive a text message advising you to discuss the results with your referring doctor.
